Sustainable facade renovation of 260 rental houses in Den Helder
:quality(80))
In 2021, the Den Helder Public Housing Foundation carried out a large-scale facade renovation of 260 social rental houses in collaboration with contracting company A. Tuin Den Helder B.V., BMN Den Helder and Trespa BV. The aim was to provide the facades with a durable and low-maintenance cladding. In this blog post we talk about how this project came about and what solutions were found for the challenges that arose.
The facade cladding
The facades were renovated with Trespa Pura facade cladding, a material with many benefits: it requires little maintenance, has a long lifespan and is resistant to weathering. Trespa International made a video of the project, explaining all the details of this facade cladding. It is available in many different colors and sizes, which makes it suitable for all kinds of houses.
The project started with the selection of the right partners. Contractor A. Tuin Den Helder B.V. was selected as the building company. They developed, in close cooperation with Trespa BV, a solution for the aluminium sub-frame system for the Trespa Pura cladding. BMN Den Helder supplied the materials for the renovation. IPEX was responsible for the calculations and the delivery of the sub-frame system for the facade cladding.
One of the major challenges in this project was that the facade renovation had to be as sustainable as possible. It had to be eco-friendly and the materials had to last a long time. Trespa Pura was found to be a sustainable and low-maintenance solution for the cladding. Trespa BV helped to find the best solution for the aluminium sub-frame system.
The result of the project is amazing. Thanks to the facade renovation, the 260 rental houses look like new again. Moreover, the houses are now more sustainable, thanks to the low-maintenance and durable facade cladding. Not only do the tenants now live in a better home, the project also benefits the environment.
