A relay cabin ("relaishuis") contains all the logic and technology for rail security. VPT Versteeg was commissioned to refurbish a relay cabin in Roermond with beautiful corten steel slats. IPEX was contracted to supply the screws for the facade cladding in the same colour as the slats.
A relay cabin contains all the logic and technology for rail security. Transformers provide the power supply to the relay cabin. Large relay cabins consist of a train security room, a battery room, a power supply room and a telecom room.
A relay cabin is a railway facility. Depending on the size, it contains installations such as a gas extinguishing installation, climate control equipment and building-related installations, including all cabling.
Facade cladding with corten steel slats
VPT Versteeg was commissioned to refurbish a relay house in Roermond with beautiful corten steel slats. The slats give the relay house a sturdy look. The facade system was tailor-made. A total of 200 m2 of facade system was used and approximately 30 ml of sectional steel.
Screws and slats in the same colour
IPEX was asked to supply screws in the same colour as the corten steel slats. With screws matching the colour of the facade system, the building is beautiful in every detail.
